About
A practical data atlas for UKCS screening, planning, and marine due diligence.
The UK Continental Shelf is a complex and changing marine environment. Useful information is spread across many providers, portals, and formats. UKCS Data Atlas brings key open datasets into one place for viewing, searching, querying, and export.
What the atlas covers
The atlas includes bathymetry, offshore energy leases, petroleum licences, wells, pipelines, subsea infrastructure, cables, geology, wrecks, munitions, survey coverage, protected areas, habitats, vessel density, live buoy observations, and modelled metocean data.
Search and context
Search and zoom to named features, inspect attributes, and understand how datasets overlap spatially.
Area screening
Draw or upload an area of interest and return relevant datasets grouped by theme and provider.
Metocean data
View buoy observations and retrieve modelled wave, current, and wind data where provider data is available.
Data currency
Reference layers are designed for periodic refreshes, with update metadata shown in the application.
Important limitations
The atlas is for project screening and marine spatial context. It is not a navigational product, statutory register, legal advice, or a replacement for checking official provider services.
